Reuben you little treasure. Seven months old*.Well well.
Your favourite person is still your brother.
You've made your peace with solid foods, (for the most part anyway). You're least displeased (!) with weetabix and a mixture of carrot, butternut squash and apple. You've also tried banana, avocado, pasta, cheese, bread, cod, sweet potato and porridge. We found out you're allergic to either strawberry or pineapple; watch this space on that one.
You took to your sippy cup really well and guzzle water down from it. I guess you completely bypassed a bottle, you never did take one.
You wear mostly aged 9-12 month clothes you little chunk. Still cutest in stripes, in my opinion.
You're much less sicky than you used to be which is nice.
You babble away and you have no "low volume" setting!
You aren't a fan of sleeping long stretches but your brother and his chronic sleeping issues paved the way for us to be mostly okay with the amount you do sleep. You will get there; if he did, you definitely will!
You have spent the majority of this seventh month really unwell with what has proved to be a nasty virus, which took all four of us down. You cried for a week straight at the start of it, it has been utterly miserable.
You are transfixed by Bing. Even while you've been really poorly these past couple of weeks, that big bunny has been able to put a smile on your face when little else can.
You are trying very hard to wave. I think you may have almost cracked it tonight, we shall see.
You always want to be holding something, especially one of those colourful chain link toys of yours. You love those things.
Your best buddy is your lovely Auntie Nikki! She never fails to make you smile, she helps me loads whenever we're with her and you and she have your own language consisting mostly of raspberry blowing. Always comical and adorable!
You still love sitting on your playmat and shuffling across it to reach toys or items of interest. That's something we need to keep an eye on! It's so refreshing that you mostly stay in one place, or at least keep your travelling to a minimum, as we were so used to your bonkers brother getting just about everywhere from before he was even six months old. We now know that was just his busy busy personality; your slightly different temperament is welcome, sweetheart! Don't get me wrong, you're still busy but it's a different kind of activity. Your legs never stop moving, your brain is always ticking over and man you love to chat!
Drying my hair still has you mesmerised, as does the hoover. I guess you were always going to have to be okay with noise, living with us lot!
One thing hasn't changed: our collective adoration of you and appreciation of everything about you. You and your brother are overwhelmingly wonderful and I think you'll make quite the team one day. You already do!
* Technically seven months yesterday. I started this post then but didn't finish until today. Oops. Blame the virus!
