Planting some calm

(This is a post from nine days ago but I've only managed to finish and post it today!)

I'm very aware that I've not written a single blog post since Reuben turned one. I had fully intended to write a post for his birthday, much like the other milestone posts I had written over his first year, but it all just got too much and this week is the first time the blog has even come back onto my radar.

The birthday post will definitely follow soon, but for now I thought I would post today's little "rainbow". We're having a difficult week (yes, another one) with both boys suffering from tonsillitis really badly, along with some other challenges for one of the boys in particular. It feels like smiles and laughter are in short supply in our home as a result. 

This afternoon though, Noah and Vi had a fun little time in the garden, creating a lavender path together. We are far from green -fingered in our house so Noah's never done any gardening that he remembers and he was less than keen! When given the important job of pouring water over the ground for Daddy to dig it over though, he found some enthusiasm.

He enjoyed having a task and a purpose and he did it well. They beavered away, digging 16 holes and preparing the rocky soil of our garden to receive our beautiful little lavender plants.

Let's hope that soon the path to our home will be paved with calm!
